Radiant cooling is the use of cooled surfaces to remove sensible heat by radiation & convection. The radiant technology is long being used for winter heating in cold climate especially in Europe and US. The same concept is being used for summer cooling in hot & dry climates.

The concept utilizes burying the pipes into the slabs and then running cooled water into it thus cooling the surface. Since thermal mass is being cooled, the energy stored in a building is for longer period hence resulting in high energy savings.

UEDC has designed many projects with radiant cooling and is amongst the few to bring the system design possible in India.
